Visayas (Visayan: Kabisay-an) is one of the three island groups in the Philippines, along with Luzon and Mindanao. It consists of several islands, primarily surrounding the Visayan Sea. Its inhabitants are referred to as the Visayans ,land of the gentle people.

The major islands are:

The second-largest archipelago in the world, with over 7000 tropical islands, the Philippines is one of the great treasures of Southeast Asia. Often overlooked by travelers because of its location on the ‘wrong’ side of the South China Sea. The Philippines rewards those who go the extra distance to reach it. And because it’s off the beaten path, the Philippines is a great place to escape the hordes who descend on other parts of Southeast Asia.

First and foremost, the areas we ride in the Philippines are extremely safe. I have traveled to all the islands and destinations with my 16 year old daughter to enjoy all of the natural wonders – a string of coral-fringed islands strewn across a vast expanse of the western Pacific. Below sea level, the Philippines boasts some of the world’s best diving and snorkeling, including wreck diving around Coron and swimming with the whale sharks off Donsol. Above sea level, It is a Motorcyclist dream come true, you can ride as fast or slow as your ability allows, laws are few and of that are rarely enforced, speed and traffic signs are merely suggestions.

Fantastic landscape with wonders enough to stagger even the most jaded traveler: The Chocolate Hills of Bohol, Banaue and the majestical rice terraces are fascinating, with reminders of the islands’ history in places such as Samar and Leyte. And if you’re after palm-fringed, white-sand beaches, try laid back undiscovered beaches of Sipalay or flat-out party Beach of Boracay.

The weather. My saying is, "If you don't like the weather in the Philippines wait 10 minutes it will change"!  generally speaking it's a Tropical climate tempered by constant sea breezes. There are three distinct seasons: the rainy season (July to September), cool and dry (October to February), and hot and mainly dry (March to June). Evenings are cooler

All this beautiful green lush jungles and beautiful waterfalls need rain, In reality it rains year round, just more often and prominent during rainy season and less in dry. Even during rainy season you can often strike it lucky and have weeks of brilliant blue skies and unlimited sunshine. On the other hand it is called the rainy season and the rains – when they come – can be pretty impressive and quite prolonged. The plus side about rainy season is that there are fewer tourists around and diving is definitely a little quieter.
I ride year round, and enjoy all my riding whenever and wherever.
